Well, to say that Harrison Ford has been my favorite actor since I was about 5 years old would be the understatement of the century. Ford having played two of my favorite film characters Han Solo and Indiana Jones has led me to have some kind of emotional connection to his characters for some 42 years.
His characters are beloved to me. In fact those characters can take me back to a simpler time and a more innocent time of life. My childhood of course. My family were always big Harrison Ford fans as well. At 5 years old I can remember standing outside in my uncle’s backyard with my father and him being almost giddy talking about a movie he had went to the local theater to see recently. A theater that is still in Kilgore Texas actually. Doesn’t look much different frankly than it did in 1980 from the outside. He tells us you have to see this movie about this guy that gets into all kinds of trouble and has the worst luck but, some how always comes out okay. He gets the crap beat out of him. He’s in the jungle and he’s fighting Nazis it is just wild. One of the best films he says he’s ever seen. That film was Raiders of the Lost Ark. Of course it would introduce us to Indiana Jones as portrayed by Harrison Ford.
Some how at the time I did not quite connect him and Han Solo together. Obviously the characters look much different. The characters also have much different settings and are much different heroes for different reasons. Both characters would have Ford’s signature half grins, sarcasm, and undeniable swag. Even if we didn’t know what the word swag was. A couple of years later I would realize they were the same guy and my loyalty to Ford would begin to form. Even going to see the film Mosquito Coast in the theater although the entire family was in unison bored out of our collective heads.
Ford would of course have many excellent films over the years that I would come to adore. The Fugitive, Air Force One, The Frisco Kid, Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger, Frantic, Witness, and recently I am following him in the Yellowstone prequel series 1923. I have to confess I never grabbed the greatness of Blade Runner. I know it is considered a classic but, it was just too damn slow for a kid back then.
Now we flash forward to the last 8-10 years at Disney and for the sake of this article Lucasfilm. We know that politics and woke ideology has invaded the landscape of the once George Lucas owned collection of properties. We saw glimpses of it in The Force Awakens although I adored that movie until the night of the Thursday early release of the Last Jedi. That Kathleen Kennedy and Rian Johnson dumpster fire would jump full head first into wokeness and a blatant loathing of capitalism. Raising the importance of female characters while taking the sloppiest of shits on all males in sight. Then of course more films would come. Including Solo A Star Wars Story and The Rise of Skywalker. Which would bring Ford back for a totally pointless cash grab that Ford had previously said he would withstand.
Now comes Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. Let’s be honest that is one of the worst titles in the history of film existence. Ford is back with his favorite producer Kathleen Kennedy. Yes that is a fact. Ford adores Kennedy. Always did in a relationship forged through films involving director Steven Spielberg. So it should not surprise us that Ford would not end this beloved characters journey with the previously made Crystal Skull movie. Yes I have even begun to appreciate that film over some 20 viewings or more. Indiana Jones returns in a new installment which will star a actress named Phoebe Waller-Bridges. If that name rings a bell that is the actress that voiced one of the if not THE worst character in the history of Star Wars named L3-37. A diehard feminist pansexual droid that was said to be the SW version of Kathleen Kennedy herself. This character is repulsive bringing political elements into a Star Wars movie that has no business ever being written into a script involving a kids production. Star Wars and Indiana Jones should still be kids films. That has been lost. And if they are written with kids in mind it should not have the Disney Groomer footprint on the screenplay and script. Waller-Bridges will co-star with Ford in the upcoming 5th entry in the Jones saga. There is definite rumors on story that will send a shiver down the spine of any die hard old school entertainment fan. Much less a Indiana Jones fan. Most likely Indy’s character will have his on screen nuts cut off and thrown out of a plane over India somewhere in this film. Even the trailer has her character showing up to “SAVE INDY” from peril. Showing she will be raised to hero status and he will be sidelined into crusty old Robin to her woke Batman. It makes me want to puke.
This is where we get to Ford. Harrison made comments to Fox News recently that he had been “raised to be a Democrat”. That his “moral purpose was to be a Democrat”. Now everything comes into focus. Not that this is surprising because he has been on leftist rants on and off for some 10 years. Maybe longer generally around climate lies. He also confessed that he was raised with little religious purpose or backbone. That “God and Nature” could be whatever you deem it to be. Now if you follow actual Christianity you realize this is just simply not the case. But, it explains a lot. The lack of religion in his life along with his Democratic confessions tells you exactly where his thought process would point you toward. Simply put. He’s onboard with about any and everything Kathleen Kennedy would have planned for Lucasfilm over the last several years.
Asked about his philosophy in life, movie star Harrison Ford said this week that he was “raised a Democrat” and “my moral purpose was being a Democrat.”
The Indiana Jones actor talked to the Hollywood Reporter about politics and religion, saying that as a younger man, “I didn’t have any religious construct, but I think nature and God are the same thing.”
There was never any hope to save Han Solo or Indiana Jones. Not only would many characters die by the hand of Kathleen Kennedy but, Ford would hand her the knife. Stabbing his cinematic gravy train acting creations in the back. He would himself take a active role in purging the sparkle that George Lucas created with his company. My favorite actor would load the bullets for the machine gun of hate Kennedy would begin to fire into all of the loyal fans of the original offerings of George. Ford’s political ideals would lead him straight into Kennedy’s newly created Hell. When you don’t believe in God then what is the risk? There is no one in this life to be morally grounded with. Indiana Jones will be destroyed on June 30, 2023. Not even the underrated James Mangold can save this thing. Harrison Ford will take his rightful place next to his morally bankrupt Hollywood partner Kathleen Kennedy as the killers of Lucasfilm.
