Handagil has no problem ordering his soldiers to lock Ririha in a cage and leave her outside the Snow Sea. Kaina and Yaona get on the Valghian ship and rescue her when the soldiers are not on duty. When Handagil finds out that she is gone, he orders his men on the other ships to search for her. He and his other men, on the other hand, will return to their mobile country, not knowing that she, Kaina, and Yaona are still on the ship. The question now is how they are going to get home.
Amerote may help them. She doesn’t appear to be playing a bad or good character, but rather something in the middle. Her dialogue and behavior suggest she does not agree with how her commander handles the situation. Instead of killing the princess with a sword, he lets her freeze to death. However, she does not go against Handagil’s cruelty. She is afraid of him, and she probably knows the consequences if she goes against his wishes.
The cutting tool Kaina brings to cut the metal lock in half is somewhat intriguing. The image of the tool looks more like a modern plain cutter than an ancient one. Also, it cuts like an electric metal cutter, which makes me wonder if there was an advanced civilization before Canopy and the Valghan. If so, how advanced was it compared to the Valghan? One of the soldiers is shocked by the cut of the metal lock. He questions what type of tool is used, especially in a short amount of time on the ship. Episode 1 mentions how there is only one village left, but I think there is more to it. I hope to see if the sign keeper has more to say or discover about the billboards he collects.
A series of actions involving rescuing Ririha and finding a place to hide on the ship is not exciting. It does not create tension or time pressure. It is predictable that Kaina and Yaona would be able to save her without any obstacles. It is as if the enemy overlooks the possibility that someone could come for the princess. The Valghian soldiers seem confident that no one is on their way to save the princess. Two of them, who are on duty, return to the room instead of watching her. Handagil also feels the same way as the soldiers, as he drinks in his room. Despite the fact that he kills them and orders a search of the ship, he is no longer concerned about holding her hostage.
Overall, Episode 6 is not exciting, especially the process of saving the princess. Then again, there are some good points, such as Amerote’s character and the tools Kaina uses. Her emotional reaction to Ririha appears to have changed. She is not too happy about it, which makes me wonder if she will end up helping Yaona, Kaina, and the princess escape. The tools Kaina made also make me question more about the past civilization of Canopy. Too bad all the episodes after Episode 1 focus only on Snow Sea.
