Spy X Family Season 1 Episode 24 Review

In this episode, there are two events. The first event is about Loid’s and Yor’s misinterpretation of the issue. Yor is worried to death about being replaced by Frost. Loid tries to explain the relationship between him and Frost to her to avoid any gossip from their neighbor that he is cheating on her. The second event is about Anya and Becky going shopping and ending up having a positive view on things. This is also true for Yor, who ends up looking at things from a positive perspective.

What I like in this episode is the outcome of Yor and Loid’s misunderstanding of the issue. It is like seeing couples make up for their miscommunication. Their conversation, inner voice, and behavior are hilarious, embarrassing, and heartwarming. They also bring out the character’s nature, which was never seen in previous episodes. They express their feelings openly and genuinely, even though there is a repeated pattern to their actions. He feels comfortable talking to her about the past events involving his mother, like he talks to her as a friend. He does not think she is unintelligent or foolish, contrary to what she thinks when she compares herself to Frost. Instead, he looks at her in a positive way, and he once again encourages her by giving a compliment about her skills over the years. He also assures her that he likes who she is and explains why Frost would not be a good replacement for her.

The following scenes are O.K. There is no surprise or laughter at the shopping scenes. They just reveal more about Becky and her clothing choices for Anya. They also reveal their two different personalities when they go shopping together. Becky acts more like a grown-up, and Anya is not.

Then again, Becky’s family butler impacts others catches my attention. Her simple and short dialogue changes Becky’s mind about accepting Anya’s inexpensive and simple gift: a key chain. She hesitates to accept her gift because of what her father tells her the standards of receiving gifts, clothes, etc. Everything should be expensive or of high quality due to her socioeconomic status. Nevertheless, she agrees to accept her gift. Whether her butler gives her a look from a positive perspective or not is not clear. However, a flashback of her over the years, with Anya’s gift in her schoolbag, provides a different perspective on her change of behavior. They suggest she has changed from being negative to positive about school and commoners due to her experience, which can be related to real-life situations.

Overall, this episode is great. There are two events that do not seem to be related to each other, but they are. The butler’s and Loid’s dialogue provides comic relief and reveals the character’s new perspective on seeing things. It is a transformative tool that solves Becky’s hesitation and Yor’s negative image of herself.
